The Heller Stores are excited to introduce Heller Gives Back! We are a family business, and pride ourselves on treating our customers as if they are part of our family. So we thought to ourselves, how can we say thank you in a way that might not be expected of a car dealer? Here is what we came up with:

 

What is Heller Gives Back?

It’s a program we’ve developed using $10,000 we set aside to assist residents of Central Illinois with a need.

It’s a helping hand, not a hand out.

It’s paying a month or two of mortgage to keep a family in their home until they can get back on their feet.

It’s helping the single mom out with daycare so she can work.

It’s subsidizing your elderly neighbor so they can pay the electricity bill.

 

Whatever the case may be, we just want to help those in central Illinois in need. We recognize that it is the great people here who have made us what we are, and now its time to return the favor.

 

Maybe we’re not going to change the world. But we are going to make it better for many hard-working people who just need a little help getting back on their feet.

 

Because that’s what families do.

Updates on the Heller Gives Back Program:


Our first donation helped a single mother of 3 with funds to renew her license plates. Her budget is very tight, and transportation to sporting events, doctor’s appointments, school registration, etc. is a necessity. She recently had several unexpected medical expenses, and she described the Heller Gives Back funds as “Help just in the nick of time!”

Our Heller Gives Back program just helped another family! We were able to purchase medication for a gentleman whose medication bills were overwhelming him, and who needed help until the drug manufacturer’s indigent plan took effect. His wife’s response: “I think it’s wonderful! Without it, my husband would have to do without his heart medication.”

A young family with 6 year old twin sons, one of whom has Cerebral Palsy, contacted us for assistance through the Heller Gives Back program.  We were able to assist them with the purchase of a mobility cart for their son.

 A single father of two who has faced several challenges lately also received help from the Heller Gives Back Fund.  A long time school bus driver who lost his job due to untreatable hearing loss, this gentleman has persevered, accepting a job as a bus monitor instead.  He is trying his best to care for his family while adjusting to living on a greatly reduced income.

Our program also was able to help a gentleman who was disabled in a fall from a roof.  He is now wheelchair dependant, and recently was in an accident that damaged his van, and because he is unable to work, he cannot afford the repairs.  Without it, his wife must leave work to take him to doctor’s appointments, therapy, etc, putting additional financial burden on them.

 We assisted a young mother who lives on an extremely limited budget to purchase school clothes and supplies for her 13 year old son.
